This firm specializes in the new urbanist development of greenfield and infill places, cultural architecture, as well as educational and campus planning, throughout the Gulf South. Architects Southwest's Steven Oubre is a trailblazer in the new urbanist movement in Louisiana. In 1994, in association with Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater Zyberk, Oubre was involved in the development of the Village of Ile de Canne, a leading urbanist community. As a member of the Congress for New Urbanism, Oubre has studied and worked extensively during the nineties on creating spaces that readdress the art of building for people. Oubre designed River Ranch in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Berard, Habetz & Associates (BH&A) is a multi-discipline consulting engineering firm established in 1995 by Marc Berarad, P.D. and Tedmund Habetz, P.E. BH&A provides a wide range of planning, engineering, prroject management and inspection services for the industrial, commercial, and municipal sectors. The company was founded upon, and continues to be built upon, two key tenets: (1) a broad base of experience applied in a multi-faceted approach to problem solving best ensures an optimal solution to the clients' needs; and (2) Planning, Engineering, and Management are equally vital in the success of any project.

Miller Engineers - Infrastructure & Drainage

Miller Engineers & Associates, Inc. has a team comprised of five professional engineers and three professional land surveyors. Since its inception, the firm has provided planning, design, project management and inspection services for the private and industrial sectors as well as governmental agencies. Its areas of expertise in the engineering field include providing design and project management for new and/or renovations of sewer collection and treatment systems, water distribution and treatment systems, roadways, hydraulics/hydrology, recreational developments, building foundations, civil site improvements, etc. Permitting is another area in which this firm has extensive experience. Assistance in applications for grant/loan funding, when available, is also provided.

David Moore - Sewerage

David Moore is a Registered Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering and a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. He is licensed by the State of Louisiana in both of these fields. David graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1982. At that time he was employed as an engineer for Exxon Company USA in Lafayette, Louisiana. David's work experience also includes 5 years with American Oilfield Divers, an oilfield service company. He has been working for Simon J Freyou and Associates, Inc. since 1990. During this time he has worked on a variety of jobs, such as, subdivision design, sewerage and water utility systems, building construction, drainage analysis and design. David is presently President of Freyou, Moore and Associates, Inc.

Richard A. "Rick" Hall, P.E., is President. Hall Planning & Engineering, Inc., is a transportation planning and engineering firm specializing in multiple practice areas within the transportation profession. The firm focuses on both Planning and Preliminary Engineering, especially the vital interface between Planning and Design. Transportation aspects of community plans, subarea/sector plans and corridor studies are key HPE emphasis areas.

Southern Mutual Help Association, Inc. , Developers - Since it was founded in 1969, Southern Mutual Help Association (SMHA) has helped people develop strong, healthy, prosperous rural communities in Louisiana. SMHA's special focus is with distressed rural communities whose livelihoods are interdependent with our land and waters. SMHA works primarily with agricultural and pervasively poor communities, women and people of color. SMHA helps build rural communities through people's growth in their own empowerment and the just management of resources.

Lorna Bourg, President - A MacArthur Fellow, a Fannie Mae Foundation James A. Johnson Fellow and graduate of Harvard's JFK School of Government Program for Senior Executives, Lorna Bourg has over three decades' experience in rural community and housing development. She is a leadership consultant in local, regional and national nonprofit initiatives and has extensive experience in community organizing and development.

Leonard McMullin, Project Manager - Prior to joining the Teche Ridge team, McMullin was Senior Vice President of Development and Project Manager for Tradition Master Planned Community, a 4,600 acre real estate development project that includes a 300+ acre Traditional Neighborhood Design local market project. McMullin's experience is equally balanced between real estate development management, marketing coordination and construction implementation. Leonard brings a strong set of skills and broad vision to complex projects, with experience in land entitlement issues, due-diligence, land planning, budgeting, development scheduling and project programming.
