Southern Mutual Help Association

The developer, Southern Mutual Help Association, has a long history of building communities that emphasize this philosophy of prosperity ensures, and the value created in stewardship, diverse exchange, art and celebration. These philosophies insure that an investment in the community remains profitable socially, economically, and environmentally.

The Developer has rights to all decision making regarding Teche Ridge for a period of thirty years or until a percentage of the lots have been sold to private owners. The developer encourages a mix of residential, mixed use and commercial within the community that is closely aligned with principles of Traditional Neighborhood Design. Developer may subject any portion of the property to additional covenants and servitudes. Such additional covenants shall be set forth in a supplemental Declaration and shall require the written consent of the owners of such properties.

Steve Oubre is an Iberia Parish native having grown up in Loreauville, Louisiana, not far from Teche Ridge. Steve holds a Bachelor’s of Architecture Degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and co-founded Architects Southwest in 1980. This firm specializes in the new urbanist development of greenfield and infill places, cultural architecture, as well as educational and campus planning, throughout the Gulf South.

Steven Oubre is a trailblazer in the urbanist movement in Louisiana. He is renowned for his smart growth land planning expertise. Steve has master planned projects in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi notably River Ranch, Terrabella, Sugarmill Pond, Tradition and now The Master Planned Community of Teche Ridge in New Iberia Louisiana. His other projects include Arrozal in Lake Charles, Olde Town in Lafayette; Southeaster Louisiana University in Hammond; and additional projects in every major city in Louisiana.

Residents

Teche Ridge residents have a stake in how their neighborhood develops by participating in the Homeowners Association. The Board of Directors of the associations may adopt rules or amend previously adopted Rules and regulations that regulate the operation, use maintenance, condition, attractiveness, and control of their lots common area and any facilities made available to the owners.
